Actor Sanjay Dutt's Release According To Government Rules, States Senior Police Officials: Reports

It seems that troubles for Sanjay Dutt aka Sanju baba is intermittent. A new media report has surfaced online according to which the Maharashtra prison department has stated that it had followed the rules of government on Sanjay Dutt’s early release from the jail. However, a senior police official has refuted such claims and said that they would submit their report to the Bombay High Court.

Sanjay Dutt Case latest Update

This whole fiasco comes two days after the Bombay High Court had asked the state government to validate their reasons of releasing Sanjay Dutt early from the jail.

On June 12, the prestigious high court had asked Maharashtra government as to why Sanjay Dutt, who was serving his five years term in jail in relation to the 1993 Bombay blasts, was released eight months prior to his full term completion.

Sanjay Dutt was released from jail in February 2016. And soon after his early release, Pune activist Pradeep Bhalekar signed a PIL which was under the scrutiny of justices RM Sawant and Sadhana Jadhav. The bench of judges then ordered the Maharashtra government to file a legal affidavit stating the whole procedure and accounts on which Sanjay Dutt was granted such privilege.

ADIG, Additional Director General of Police, BK Upadhyay, has denied such media reports and quoted- “Since matter is in Honourable HC, prison deptt will submit its reply in the court. No statement in this regard has been issued as the matter is subjudice”

The Bombay High Court will hear the case after a week from today.

Sanjay Dutt was serving his term in Yerwada Jail in Pune for his alleged involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts arms case.

Meanwhile, his movie 'Bhoomi' opposite Aditi Rao Hyadri will hit the theaters later this year. He has also been in news for his under-production biopic in which Ranbir Kapoor will play his part. Rajkumar Hirani is directing the untitled film.
