Veteran actor Anupam Kher is all set to play former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the upcoming film The Accidental Prime Minister based on the book by the same name written by Sanjaya Baru. We all know that Anupam Kher has been in lot of media limelight recently because of his political statements and have been trolled on a regular basis by the internet users and tweeple.
But this time it’s not one of his political statements that is garnering attention and making rounds on the internet. This time it’s all about the movie The Accidental Prime Minister whose first theatrical poster is generating lot of hashtags on twitter. Firstly, it is Anupam Kher who always finds himself politically dragged into many controversies that happen in India and secondly, it’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who has always been in controversies anyways. Naturally a lot is brewing. But Dr Singh is also famous for his one quality- he doesn’t speak and that’s where twitterati are enjoying their moments. Let us look at how twitter users reacted on this-
The book penned down by Sanjaya Baru, who was also Dr Singh’s political advisor once, was highly controversial when it released arguing Dr Manmohan Singh’s credibility as a Prime Minister accusing him that it’s Sonia Gandhi who was actually in power and Dr Singh was merely enjoying his throne.
The film’s release dates are yet to be announced. However, few details related to the film have been made public. It is ironic that an ardent supporter of BJP would be playing a former Congress Prime Minister. Keep watching this space for more twitter reactions when the film releases.
